It is often said, “Find what you love and do it.” Eating my grandmother’s hand-dipped chocolates was something I loved so much. After spending my childhood Christmas seasons devouring her chocolates, I greatly desired to learn how to make them. In 1998: as newlyweds, my husband and I made a trip from Southern California to Provo, Utah to have my first official chocolate-making instruction from my grandmother, Pauline Bailey Rasmussen. Chocolate making is an art and cannot be learned and mastered in one lesson. Every year after Thanksgiving, I would make the trek to Utah to learn how to make delicious beautiful chocolates. Every step of chocolate making requires great patience and awareness to detail. Every chocolate piece is a masterpiece, each individual piece requires continuous concentration and love.
Yummiest Chocolates
After Seven years of constant work, after mastering the ability to create perfect chocolates, I created Black Bow Chocolates. It wasn’t until we moved our family to Utah in 2011 that I decided to make Black Bow Chocolates known as the yummiest chocolates around. Chocolate making is my dream come true!
Awarded the Blue Ribbon
In 2016, my Orange Chocolate was awarded the Blue Ribbon at the Utah State Fair. The orange chocolates were my favorite growing up, and one of Grandma’s specialties. Black Bow Chocolates started with four flavors, all favorites from Grandma’s box of chocolates. I recently have added three more flavors. We dedicate our love and time to guarantee customer satisfaction with our simple but lovable flavors!
With Lots of chocolate love,
Jessica
